Hélène Mason
Position: Financial Information Manager
Hélène looks after Spiral's company information - particularly anything involving financial accounts. She gets a buzz out of putting the pieces together to create a picture of the company.
"Its interesting because I haven't worked for a web designer before... Every business needs different kinds of information," she says. In Spiral's case there are things like recurring charges for renewing annual domain name registration. The fun is in working out how you capture that and what information you can pull out of it.
Personal Qualities
Competent, methodical, efficient, relaxed and down-to-earth, open, helpful matter-of-fact. She's not into holding grudges.
Hélène enjoys the challenge of creating information flows that will support and enhance the business.
A hands-on person, she learned MYOB over a decade ago after computerising her own business accounts - through crashing the system and having to fix it.
More About Hélène
Hélène has been a self-employed consultant since 1991. She has had base clients all round Wellington including print brokers, a film production company, graphic designer, and tradespeople. She also does ad-hoc consulting. She has an extensive knowledge of MYOB and Pastel software packages and how to get the best out of them to fit her clients' needs. She also works with the NZ distributor of Pastel. She has clients from 10 - 12 years ago she is still friends with.
Hélène has lived in the UK and Cyprus - which was awesome! -
emigrating to New Zealand with her parents when she was fourteen.
For relaxation Hélène enjoys bike riding, working with weights, being with friends. She has a copy of The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy in the car glovebox.
She also enjoys rock and alternative rock music, and doing Batik.
